If you see stars come out of the enemy, it means you reduced damage taken, or increased damage dealt. You can use magic or attack equipments. If you can’t equip a certain shirt or pair of shoes, this means your stats aren’t correct for that equipment. For instance, if the shirt you want to equip lowers you HP, and you have one HP left, you won’t be able to equip it because you would be dead if you do.
